FADD, Friends Against Drinking and Driving, grew from
the desire to address the problem of drinking and driving among high
school students. In March 1988, after coming face to face with
the staggering statistics of youths involved in alcohol-realted
accidents, Steve Concialdi decided to produce a mulitmedia presentation
for his fellow students at Mater Dei High School in Orange County.
While
working for an ambulance company, Steve witnessed young people
self-destructing on our roads and highways, some of them were his
friends. It was decided that a professionally produced video
would be the most effective and permanent way to reach young people and
educate them on the dangers of drinking and driving.
In August of 1989, FADD was founded. |
